The Deadwood Jam, a premier outdoor music festival, is back and is FREE to attend. The 34th annual festival is on Sept. 13-14, 2024, at Outlaw Square on Main Street and will feature two days of live music, along with an art auction.
Things get started at 5pm on Friday, Sept. 13, and last until 10pm; the party continues from noon to 10pm on Saturday. On Friday, there is a live auction where you can bid on art by Black Hills artists, ranging from sculptures to paintings to photography. There is also a silent auction on Saturday at Outlaw Square.
And of course there will be live music, with musical acts from near and far, whose styles range from rock to gospel to blues “with a hint of funk”. This year’s lineup includes:
- Burton Cummings (rock)
- Vince Converse & Big Brother (blues with a hint of funk)
- Toadstool Jamboree (rock)
- Dumpstaphunk (funk)
- Big Something (rock)
- The Blind Boys of Alabama (gospel)
- The Hogslop String Band
- Johnny Hastings and Stillhouse Down (strings/blues)
- Nathan McEuen
Open containers are allowed during the event, so bring your lawn chair and enjoy your favorite wine or beer while admiring local artwork and listening to some great live music. For more information on this year’s event, visit https://www.deadwoodjam.com.
