If you have a group of friends who can’t agree on whether beer or wine is better, we have just the thing. The 12th annual Forks, Corks and Kegs: Food, Wine and Beer Festival is April 11-12, 2025, across Deadwood.
Sample your favorite beers and wines, along with delicious food from Deadwood restaurants. The two-day event includes Wine Around Deadwood, Appetizer Crawl, Deadwood Dine Around and the Grand Tasting. General admission passes also include an event guide, trolley rides on Friday and Saturday, an open container cup and a commemorative glass.
General admission passes are $125, and VIP passes are $225, which includes early access to some events. Tickets usually go quickly, so get yours today at Ticketmaster.

Casey Donahew
Country music star Casey Donahew will perform on April 4, 2025, at the Deadwood Mountain Grand. His include “White Trash Story” and “Stockyards,” and is known for his high-energy performances. Tickets are $29 and available online.
Deep Talks: An Update on America’s Underground Lab from Mike Headley
Mike Headley, Executive Director of the South Dakota Science and Technology Authority and Laboratory Director at SURF, SURF Chief Operations Officer Wendy Straub, and Industrial Radio and Controls Technician Dale Curran will provide updates on SURF at this month’s Deep Talks presentation.
It is free to attend and starts at 5 p.m. MT on April 10, 2025, with beer and refreshments, followed by presentations at 6 p.m. at the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center in Lead.
Lenten Fish Fry
The Kiwanis Club of Lead Deadwood will host a Lenten Fish Fry on April 11, 2025, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Christian Ministry Center in Lead. There will be different types of fish, appetizers, salads, desserts and drinks.
Tickets at the door will be $15 for adults, $12 seniors & students (12-18), $6 youth (6-11) and free for children under 5. All funds will support the Kiwanis Club of Lead’s 100 Anniversary Legacy Project, which is the renovation of Lead’s Purple Park (Par Course Park). For more information, call 605-641-6254.
LEGO contest
To quote “The LEGO Movie” protagonist Emmet Brickowski, “everything is awesome” at the Lead Deadwood Arts Center in April. The center is sponsoring its 21st annual free LEGO Contest for youth and adults on April 25, 2025 at Lead Deadwood High School. It is free to enter.
Registration is from 6 to 6:30 p.m. April 25 with judging beginning at 6:30 p.m. Participants should create a LEGO sculpture at home to enter. Entries will be judged on creativity and originality.

Patsy’s Day
Patsy’s Day is on April 26 at the Adams House in Deadwood. This is an annual fundraiser that celebrates Patsy, the beloved terrier of William Emery Adams. Guests who make a donation of a pet product will receive free admission to the Adams House. All donations will go to the Twin City Animal Shelter in Lead. For more information, call 605-578-3724.
Gold Rush Burger Battle
The Gold Rush Burger Battle is a collaborative competition hosted by the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau and the Lead Area Chamber of Commerce.
The battle is between all participating businesses, and customers can rank each burger they try over the weeks. The voting window for each business will be 10 days, starting on the Wednesday of their scheduled week until the next Friday. The winner will be announced when the final week of voting ends on May 23.
New this year, customers can get a punch card from the Deadwood Welcome Center or participating businesses, and those punches will count toward entries into a prize drawing. Ten punches will equal two entries, 14 punches is three entries, and visiting all 18 locations will yield five entries into the drawing to win a gift certificate to one of the participating restaurants.
You can also post an image to social media and tag the Lead and Deadwood chambers of commerce for one entry into the drawing. Punch cards must be turned into the Deadwood Welcome Center by May 28, 2025, to be entered into the drawing.
