It’s nearly time for Deadwood’s famous Mardis Gras celebration! This city-wide festival lasts all weekend on Feb. 9 and 10, 2024, and includes free Cajun food, a parade, parties, themed cocktails and live music.

The celebration starts with the Cajun Cocktail Crawl from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, where you can visit various Deadwood watering holes for their Mardis Gras-themed cocktails. Then attend the free masquerade party – including a coronation of a king and a queen – and live music at the Franklin Hotel.

On Saturday, Feb. 10, there is a free Cajun cook-off from 2 to 4 p.m. at locations throughout Deadwood. The annual Mardis Gras parade will shimmer down Main Street starting at 7 p.m., followed by free music at the Franklin Hotel.

This is one of Deadwood’s biggest weekends, so be sure to book your room at First Gold as soon as possible!
